Missions
“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.”
Ephesians 4:11-12
The ministry of mission is one of co-laboring with others in the ministry. The Great Commission was not given to missionaries, pastors, Jews, Gentiles, or Americans. The Great Commission was given to the local church, comprised of individual members. Therefore, missions involve local churches partnering with missionaries to fulfill the church’s responsibility to evangelize the world. The purpose of tasks is given to us in the Scriptures, and it still works today!
